Accounting Assistant in Akron, OH

Currently assisting a client headquartered in downtown Akron in their search for an Accounting Assistant who will support the company’s Finance Department.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Accounting Assistant
- Posting of cash receipts including deposits (to bank), lockbox deposits, credit card payments, ACH and wires
- Handle client calls to assist with credit card payments, address issues or questions as necessary
- Assist with accounts payable input and overflow, including outgoing wires and ACH payments
- Assist with client trust accounts as needed
- Assist with collections and follow up Client inquiries
- Assist with monthly billing and accounting close cycle
- Editing of monthly Proformas and preparation of client invoices for review by attorneys
- Preparation of electronic invoicing, fixed fee billing, split billing, joint billing, replenish retainers, follow-up statements
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to assist with billing issues/situations
- Process and submit electronic invoices via electronic invoicing sites
- Assist with other accounting tasks, as needed
Education/Experience
Requirements for the Accounting Assistant
- Accounting degree or 2+ years of professional service billing and general accounting experience
- Previous experience with time and billing software
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software (Elite/3E)
- Knowledge of billing and e-billing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Proficient in data entry and time management
- Previous experience with time and billing software
- Previous experience in electronic invoicing sites
- Proven aptitude to learn new software applications, processes and assist with developing procedures and policies
- Organizing and prioritizing
