Billing Specialist in Akron, OH
Title: Billing Specialist | Hire Type: Permanent
We have an opportunity for a Billing Specialist who will work with attorneys and legal assistants in processing client billings. Candidate must be able to adapt quickly to requirements of new e-billing sites. Candidate must maintain a high level of confidentiality and perform duties in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Billing Specialist
- Generation of electronic Proformas
- Editing and completion of monthly Proformas
- Preparation of invoices including; fixed fee billing, split billing, joint billing, replenish retainers
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to assist with the resolution of billing issues/situations
- Process and submit electronic invoices via electronic invoicing sites, follow-up, appeal and resolve outstanding items
- Handle client calls to address issues or questions as necessary
- Track and follow up on invoice distribution
- Learn new software applications, processes and assist with developing procedures and policies
- Generation of month end reports for distribution (as needed)
- Assist with other accounting tasks (as needed)
Education/Experience
Requirements for the Billing Specialist
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of professional (Legal, Accounting or Architectural) billing experience
- Knowledge of billing and e-billing processes
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software (Elite / 3E)
- Paperless Proforma, Ebilling Hub experience
- Accomplished Microsoft Office, (specifically Excel) user
- ARCS and Crystal Reports experience is preferred
- Proficient in data entry and management
