Currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our client located in Akron, OH. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) guidelines in maintaining accounts within established accounting systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accounts are managed in accordance with GAAP standards, Company accounting procedures, and appropriate internal controls.
- Responsible for the daily cash application of customer accounts receivable payments, issue of checks, and daily recording of corporate banking transactions into the general ledger.
- Assists with month-end, quarter-end and annual closings as assigned; prepare journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
- Prepares and reviews corporate financial statements and other reports as needed.
- Responsible for the overall general accounting, analysis and preparation of monthly financial statements and related reports.
- Prepares reconciliations of general ledger accounts as needed; maintain work papers for audit.
- Perform analysis for management.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
Education/Experience
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Foundation in general accounting, fixed asset accounting and thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Financial statement preparation and related analysis.
- Solid business sense and an understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Advanced computer skills experience required – Advanced proficiency MS Excel, PowerBI,
- ERP experience required, Ideally with NetSuite
- Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
- Self-motivating, problem-solver, capable of managing multiple projects.
- Ability to express ideas clearly verbally and in writing.
